  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 210g self-raising flour
  • 50g cocoa powder
  • 100g caster sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
  • 60ml sunflower oil
  • 210g dairy-free block butter
  • 200g icing sugar
  • 20ml aquafaba (chickpea brine)
  • 4 ground Oreo crumbs
  • 100g dairy-free dark chocolate
  • White chocolate buttons
  • 1 pack of Oreo cookies

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). In a bowl, mix the dairy-free milk and apple cider vinegar; let it sit.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and bicarbonate of soda.
  3. Combine wet and dry mixtures along with sunflower oil, mixing until just combined.
  4. Fill cupcake liners two-thirds full with batter. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
  5. For frosting, beat dairy-free butter and icing sugar until creamy; add aquafaba and Oreo crumbs.
  6. Frost cooled cupcakes, drizzle with melted dark chocolate, and decorate with white chocolate buttons and halved Oreos for wings.
